Our founder, Dion Skaria, is a student at UC Davis with a major in Food Science. A true believer in the phrase "Food is Medicine," Dion became a food scientist and created FIT Candy because he wants to use his knowledge of food and nutrition to create delicious and nutritious products for everyone to enjoy that also find new ways to reduce food waste. FIT Candy was first created in Dion's college dorm room kitchen fueled by his passion for food, nutrition, and food sustainability.

We have innovated a  delicious sweet and sour candy without all the excess calories, sugar, and artificial ingredients. By making our candy from watermelon rinds, which is a product that is discarded on a daily basis, every bag of FIT Candy you buy helps reduce food waste. Not to mention, watermelon rinds are a SUPERFOOD packed with beneficial antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

To put our health advantage into perspective, one bag of Skittles is equivalent to 15 bags of FIT Candy as far as calories and sugar is concerned. Compared to other "healthy candy" our product is under half the calories and sugar content of the leading alternative candy brand.
